I love these earrings! I have very sensitive ears and I’ve tried all kinds of different metals and still have a reaction. I’m so grateful I found Earrings by Emma! I can finally wear earrings and not have reactions! I’ve been wearing this pair since I got them and have gotten quite a few compliments 🙂. They’re beautiful and light weight. I have two other pairs I haven’t worn yet but they’re also beautiful and light.

I love all the earrings I got from you but my ears still got crusty and crudy while wearing them. But it took longer that when I wear metal earrings so I am happy with them and will probably order more!! Do u have any silver hoop earrings?? I only saw gold hoops.

Store owner replied: The most common reason someone might have an issue with plastic is more the thicker size of the post than the plastic material itself. This is usually just the case for people that have tiny ear piercings or if you haven’t worn earrings for a while. If you can wear the earrings for a few days, even if it's just for 20 minutes a day, while there could be some initial temporary discomfort during the transition period, there is not usually further irritation. If you don't want to deal with the transition period, you are welcome to email us about our refund policy. We don't currently have silver hoops but hope to add them someday.

Store owner replied: Thank you for the kind feedback! We are so glad to hear that you love our earrings! We do recommend that you remove the earrings for sleeping and showering since it can increase the chance for bending the posts and loosening the backs. It also voids our warranty.

What are the posts and hooks made of?

Posts and hooks are made from polycarbonate plastic, and the backs are a soft plastic called TPE. Some earring fronts include metal, but nothing metal touches your ear.

Do the dangles need backs?

No. The curved hooks stay in on their own, so backs aren’t needed or included.

Why do the studs come with two backs?

You get two sizes so you can pick the fit you like, plus a spare in case one goes missing.

Are they OK for new piercings?

They’re made for healed piercings only.

Can I sleep in them?

We don’t recommend it. Sleeping in them puts pressure on the glue, which can loosen the backs or pop a post off.

Will the stud posts feel thick?

Stud posts are a little thicker than dangle hooks. If your piercings are small or you haven’t worn earrings in a while, they may feel snug at first. Wearing them a few hours a day usually fixes that within a few days.
