This is usually just the case for people that have tiny ear piercings or if you haven’t worn earrings for a while. If you can wear the earrings for a few days, even if it's just for 20 minutes a day, while there could be some initial temporary discomfort during the transition period, there is not usually further irritation. I got these in the light blue colour and they are very nice. The smaller ones are perfect if you want a more casual look (vs. the same ones in the larger version which are also pretty but a little bolder style). The light blue is perfect with a light wash denim and very summery. Earrings are nice and light so they can easily be worn all day.

They’re beautiful, but couldn’t get a back on. It’d be nice if they came with backs that worked on them. I may try to change the plastic out for metal. I know I’ll lose at least one, if not both with no backs. Been there done that. Unfortunately, if I can’t find a work around they are nothing but a beautiful waste of money. Very disappointed. ☹️

Store owner replied: Our dangle earrings do not come with backs. Our plastic hooks have a curvature that usually allows them to stay in well on their own. This is also for your safety so that if the earrings get caught on something or pulled by a little one, the earrings should thread out safely rather than rip your ear. One of my earlobes was swollen so I had a hard time getting the earring in. After treating the ear and waiting several days, I was able to easily get the earring in place. I have a nickel allergy so these earrings are perfect for me. I love the size choices, the appearance of the ones I chose. Good to Know

What are the posts and hooks made of?

Posts and hooks are made from polycarbonate plastic, and the backs are a soft plastic called TPE. Some earring fronts include metal, but nothing metal touches your ear.

Do the dangles need backs?

No. The curved hooks stay in on their own, so backs aren’t needed or included.

Why do the studs come with two backs?

You get two sizes so you can pick the fit you like, plus a spare in case one goes missing.

Are they OK for new piercings?

They’re made for healed piercings only.

Can I sleep in them?

We don’t recommend it. Sleeping in them puts pressure on the glue, which can loosen the backs or pop a post off.

Will the stud posts feel thick?

Stud posts are a little thicker than dangle hooks. If your piercings are small or you haven’t worn earrings in a while, they may feel snug at first. Wearing them a few hours a day usually fixes that within a few days.
