My first order of six sets of Earrings by Emma arrived today, and I could not be happier with the products. I am 50 years old and have had irritated pierced ears for 42 of them. At some point I just gave up on earrings altogether, especially after trying very expensive precious metals and still experiencing pain, redness, swelling, and pus. I knew when I saw these they were the answer I needed all along and grabbed six right away. I have had these in for hours without any issues. I even FORGOT THEY WERE THERE which has never happened! I bought a cute mix of classy and quirky (just like me!) and will be living my earring dreams. Nothing can stop me now!

It's amazing to find earrings that I can wear without irritating my ear lobes. They are light weight and I can't say enough about the plastic hooks. I will definitely purchase more earrings and I've been telling my friends as well. Love the different styles.

I was really hopeful these would not make eye ears feel sore, but they are. They hurt as soon as I put them in. A few pair, the hurt goes away, but after several days of wearing different ones, my ears are crusty and sore. I'm so sad! I really wanted this to work!

Store owner replied: The most common reason someone might have an issue with plastic is more the thicker size of the post than the plastic material itself. This is usually just the case for people that have tiny ear piercings or if you haven’t worn earrings for a while. If you can wear the earrings for a few days, even if it's just for 20 minutes a day, while there could be some initial temporary discomfort during the transition period, there is not usually further irritation. If you don't want to deal with the transition period, you are welcome to email us about our refund policy.

Honestly, these might be my favorites of all of my EBE orders. I love that they are neutral-ish and professional at the same time. Even though I love whimsical earrings in general, it's really nice to have a few work options too. It's rare that I see a company--any company... not just those I can wear anymore because of my sensitivites--have both. Thank you, EBE!

Good to Know

What are the posts and hooks made of?

Posts and hooks are made from polycarbonate plastic, and the backs are a soft plastic called TPE. Some earring fronts include metal, but nothing metal touches your ear.

Do the dangles need backs?

No. The curved hooks stay in on their own, so backs aren’t needed or included.

Why do the studs come with two backs?

You get two sizes so you can pick the fit you like, plus a spare in case one goes missing.

Are they OK for new piercings?

They’re made for healed piercings only.

Can I sleep in them?

We don’t recommend it. Sleeping in them puts pressure on the glue, which can loosen the backs or pop a post off.

Will the stud posts feel thick?

Stud posts are a little thicker than dangle hooks. If your piercings are small or you haven’t worn earrings in a while, they may feel snug at first. Wearing them a few hours a day usually fixes that within a few days.
